This session covers booth layout and product lighting.  Tips and techniques that work to merchandise and sell more art are the focus of this workshop.  An extensive slide presentation showing good and bad examples of visual merchandising will be shown to visually drive these points home. The workshop will focus on ways that artists can ramp up their merchandising without spending a lot of money.

This session is for anyone who finds themselves in a sales position. This lively and entertaining session will help you to greet your customers and close more sales.  Learn how customers in the current economy like to be treated to become repeat and loyal buyers. Discover how using the senses and body language will make your cash register ring!  Learn why it is important to never say "thank you" to your customers until a sale is transacted and how to avoid other customer “Turnoffs”. Trends drive the market place.  Artists need to know what big business knows when it comes to using trends to increase sales.  You will understand the power and advantage of using trends to enhance your products.  The first half of this workshop will identify current and future trends and their effect on the market place.

· See clearly the difference between a Trend and a Fad.
· Know what your customers want to buy.
· Make smart changes to your business based on market research and consumer demands.

Product Development
This is your way of tapping into the market. By using a few simple product development techniques you can create products that are easier to sell. “Analyze the evolution of your product development and merchandising. See your product line with new eyes.”
• Develop designs and use colors that sell themselves.
• Learn how to divine for trends and use these trends to develop products that will sell with ease.

Each participant should bring an open mind and a few examples of their work to stimulate product development "show and tell" discussions. Bring pen and paper.
